What it supports
Seed funding for business associations to establish or develop a Business Improvement District under Christchurch City Council’s BID Policy.
Funding
The scheme has NZD 47,500 per year. A normal single grant is up to NZD 5,000; exceptional projects with exceptional benefit to the business district may receive up to NZD 15,000. Council retains full discretion, so no programme-wide hard maxAmount is stored.

- • Organisation must be based in and deliver its project in Ōtautahi Christchurch or Te Pataka o Rakaihautū Banks Peninsula.
- • Organisation must be a legally formed entity such as a trust or society.
- • Organisation must have members from the local business community and meet at least quarterly.
- • Organisation must pass a resolution at a meeting to apply.
- • Application form asks for organisation legal status, constitution, bank account, the resolution to establish a BID, project details and full cost breakdown.
