What it supports

Regional Business Partner Network subsidy for eligible small businesses to access registered management training services.

Funding

The subsidy can cover up to 50 percent of qualifying management-training costs, to a maximum of 5,000 NZD per year, excluding GST. The amount issued varies according to the eligible business’s needs and the Growth Advisor’s decision. For group training the business contribution is stated as at least 25 percent in RBP service-provider guidance.

  • The funder may contribute up to 50% of project costs.
  • An applicant contribution of at least 50% may be required.

Who can apply

Privately owned businesses, Māori Trusts, Māori incorporations under Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993, Similar organisations managing Māori assets under multiple ownership

  • Business must complete a discovery session with a local Regional Business Partner Growth Advisor.
  • Business must have fewer than 50 full-time equivalent employees, an NZBN, operate in New Zealand, and trade commercially.
  • GST registration is required for one-to-one training only.
  • Business must show growth potential, commitment to capability building and co-funding, and an identified management capability gap.
  • A Growth Advisor determines eligibility and subsidy value, and may shortlist registered providers; the business chooses a provider.
