What it supports
Te Puni Kōkiri investment fund for eligible Iwi and Māori businesses and organisations to achieve economic, social, and cultural outcomes for Māori.
Funding
No published programme-wide minimum or maximum grant amount. The investment plan contains a minimum Te Puni Kōkiri funding threshold target of 100,000 NZD and a minimum kaitono cash co-investment target of 50 percent for some infrastructure co-investment activity; these are investment-plan targets, not general hard caps or universal requirements.

Who can apply
Registered incorporated societies, Limited liability companies, Charitable Trust Act trusts registered with the Companies Office, Statutory entities including Māori Trust Boards and Māori Associations, Māori incorporations, Trusts and incorporations under Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993, Other entities able to receive and administer Government funds

- • Proposal must be submitted by one eligible legal entity based in New Zealand.
- • Groups may partner with a legal entity or use an umbrella organisation with documented consent. Joint-governance or umbrella arrangements require written governance/ownership confirmation, agreement from all parties, conflict-resolution provisions, and exit provisions.
- • Proposal must deliver at least one investment priority outcome or build capability for local Māori community economic, social, and cultural outcomes.
- • Evidence governance approval, risk management, an authorised signed proposal, credible outcomes and return-on-investment evidence, and a viable pathway for any further implementation funding.
- • If working with children or vulnerable adults, provide a Child and Vulnerable Adults Protection Policy.
